Dowty House Taking Progressive Care Forward

Dowty House is a home for the elderly that has been in existence since 1957. The residents who live at the home enjoy the central location, being within walking distance of local parks and the town's facilities. This means that regular shopping trips, walks and tea in the park are enjoyed on a regular basis.

the professionally trained staff take great pride in upholding the reputation of Dowty House as a home where the provision of care is known to be excellent. Our reputation and the respect gained from other professionals has been earned over more than 50 years.

Dowty House is home to 37 people the general age being 65 years and over, although we do have provision for 4 people aged 55 years and over. 35 single rooms and one double room make up the accommodation and a full care service is provided including laundry, home cooked meals and professional services as required. Residents are allowed to bring with them any cherished items from their family home in the hope that this will enable them to settle more quickly into their new surroundings.

A daily programme of activities including arts & crafts, cooking, games, sing-a-longs and outside entertainment are available for those residents wishing to participate. The newly refurbished garden to the rear of the building is a great source of delight to the residents enabling them to take part in gardening activities or just to enjoy tea on a sunny afternoon. The conservatory, overlooking the garden is an alternative for those inclement days that we so regularly have.
